This project explored the design and functionality of an assigned Emigre typeface through a 24″×36″ specimen poster and an 8-page 5.5″×8.5″ booklet. The poster highlighted the typeface’s key features and visual personality, including its name, designer, year of release, a brief description, full character set (uppercase, lowercase, numerals, punctuation), and a decorative glyph. Designed to showcase both technical performance and expressive form, the poster balanced clarity with creativity. The booklet phase translated this content into a smaller, sequential format using grid systems, a baseline grid, paragraph styles, and consistent typographic hierarchy. I began with two pencil-drawn layout dummies, then refined the final version in InDesign, adhering to type best practices. The printed spreads were produced on 11″×17″ paper with crop marks and submitted digitally as well. This project emphasized typographic precision, systems thinking, and the ability to adapt visual content across formats.
